Her crisp white camisa -- a long, lace-edged blouse -- hangs nearly down to her knees. Over it she wears a deep red skirt dotted with tiny flowers, & a dark woven sash.

She has white drawers underneath and soft leather moccasins on her feet! Reflects daily fashion on a Mexican rancho in 1824; women wore less. Restrictive clothing than what was worn in white American fashion of the time. Casual clothing consisted of long blouses with simple skirts & sashes.

Her moccasins were originally real leather & were changed to faux leather by 2005. Josefina's Accessories, Partial Wrap Josefina's long, fringed shawl around her shoulders. It's called a rebozo & in 1824 girls wore one everywhere for added warmth or to protect their faces. But Josefina chose the stylish pattern & sewed every stitch herself by hand.

With it she wore ruffled pantalettes. Black slippers, & a fine lace mantilla, a veil held on with a fancy comb. Yellow & black striped dress with Regency-style sleeves.

Thin black ribbon sash & bow at empire waist. Fabric has red dots & yellow swirls. One-piece full body combination underwear. Two bows on front of bodice & three nonfunctional buttons down front. Ruffles & white ribbon trim at bottom of pantalettes.

Velcro closure up the back. Flowers embroidered around edge & scattered in mantilla lace. Tortoiseshell comb sewn to mantilla to hold mantilla into hair. Heirloom Accessories Shawl Only (1988 to 2018). Drape the embroidered gold shawl, or mantón, around Josefina's shoulders. Flowers embroidered in the corners of the shawl. Each large flower is orange with a white center & black accents as well as a red trim. Flower stems are light green with darker green stitching outlining them.

Stems have four flowers: two orange & two red, each with white centers & black accents. Josefina's Baby Goat, was introduced in 1998, redesigned in 2017, & retired in 2018.

When mean old Florecita died & left a tiny orphan behind, Josefina was determined to raise her. The frisky black & white goat was called Sombrita, "little shadow, " because she followed Josefina. She even has a silver bell around her neck so you can keep track of her.
