So much effort and going through so many'duds'. I do my best to thoroughly describe so you'll know what to expect. Still, please zoom in on the photos as they are the best form of description. It is possible that she is early 90s version (absolutely zero guarantees of this though - and we aren't original family for this Kirsten, so we don't know her history).
Her hair was matted and hours have gone into conditioning and re-braiding her hair. If/when applicable, we use really pricey, specialty shampoo/conditioner which is safe for dolls' hair. If I had to guess, I'd say her hair is the earlier, softer version.
I'm only a lay person but have helped re-create a childhood AG collection and seen quite a number of AG dolls of diff timeframes (so I don't mind sharing what my observations are - as a matter of opinion and without factual guarantee). See photos, her hair is somewhat delightful to work with now. Kirsten would likely be STELLAR for a family whereas she can continue to thrive and be well cared for (I think AG recommendation are ages 8 and over). Please examine closely 2nd to last photo as there are a handful of shorter hairs within her bangs. Tough to see, YES, but there nevertheless. You almost have to separate out and try to'pool' the few shorter hairs in order to be able to notice (please scrutinize, slightly toward the right side - around about the 1:00/2:00 position in the photo). If only she could be gently played with so that she might continue to persevere.
She has a few small flaws that I can see (shine marks, blemishes, etc) but it seems to me that she is in pretty nice condition - especially if her age is factored into the equation. It appears to me that she has the long, lighter color, soft lashes similar to the first versions of Kirsten doll (see photos, please, and decide for yourself). Kirsten's dress is also tagged: made in Hungary for Pleasant Company.
NO LACES in shoes and the insole of the shoes doesn't appear perfect either (so I'm going to say that the shoes are'thrown in' for free and in play condition). She also includes her'meet book' which is in pre-owned condition with flaws (few scuffs on the front and I'm going to say it's been read).Photos are part of description, so, please rely moreso on photos than written description.
