I believe that the doll is in very good condition. The 18 Samantha doll has long dark brown hair with bangs and brown eyes. The eyes open and close as they should and from what I can see, there is no silvering of the eyes. Her body is in good shape and she is able to sit and stand independent of a stand (no stand included).

Samanthas hair was cut a bit in the back (I imagine that there was some crazy knot I couldnt get out any other way). If her hair is styled correctly, the haircut is not noticeable. I recently combed Samanthas hair with a mixture of Snuggle Fabric Softener and water to make the hair smoother and easier to untangle.

Therefore, her hair still has a Snuggle scent. The bottom back of her hair is still a bit rough, which can be seen in the pictures.

Samantha comes in her Meet Outfit which includes her dress, stockings, shoes and hair bow. Samanthas Meet Dress is a checkered pattern taffeta, features a dropped waist, pleated front and burgundy satin sash.

The back and wrists of the dress close with Velcro. Underneath the dress, Samantha wears long black ribbed tights/stockings. Her tights dont seem to be staying up around her waist so well and are falling down a bit. There are also some pulls and one area with some holes by her ankle (please see last picture). Samanthas shoes are black plastic slip-on Mary Jane-style shoes. To top off her outfit, Samantha has a taffeta hair bow, which is made of the same. Material and has the same pattern as her dress. Samanthas Meet Accessories are also included in this listing, which include her hat, locket brooch, purse, Indian head penny and handkerchief. The hat is made of burgundy faux-velvet with rose, dove gray and gold-colored ribbons at the back.

As this is an older hat, there is a rose-colored ribbon that also runs around the outside band of the hat (see second to last picture). The hat is in very good shape though there are a few minor nicks/impressions on the outside of the hat.

Samantha wears her golden bow-shaped brooch with a heart-shaped locket on the front of her dress. There are no pictures inside of the locket. Samantha clutches a rose velvet clutch purse with a golden clasp and chain that slips over her wrist. There is some minor tarnishing on the gold clasp. In the purse, Samantha carries an authentic Indian head penny along with a white handkerchief with pink and blue embroidered flowers.

The hanger pictured is NOT included with this listing. My understanding that the earlier Samantha Meet Outfits did not include bloomer-style underpants. Therefore, they are NOT part of this listing.

These items have been stored away for many years and as such, may have a faint musty scent. The clothing items were recently washed and cleaned. Also, Samantha's hair still smells like Snuggle Fabric Softener. These items are from a clean, smoke-free and pet-free home.
