Pleasant Company RARE American Girl of Today JLY #20 Grey Eyes, Blonde hair
This is one of the very hard to find Just Like You dolls made by Pleasant Company. Pleasant Company introduced 20 dolls as Girl of Today in 1995. There were 3 dolls with grey eyes.
The brown hair doll with grey eye, #19 changed to green eyes in 1999. When Mattel took over production they revised the dolls and in 2004 eliminated the other two grey eyed dolls, number 9 with light brown hair and this blonde hair doll #20. She is on the list of valuable and hard to find American Girl dolls. The main reason was the grey eye dolls were prone to develop silver eye' where the paint started peeling inside the eye and the silver form showed. A lot of those dolls were thrown away by their owners.
This doll has a scratch on her right eye. It only shows when you shine a flashlight in from the side. The rest of the doll is in great shape.No marks on her vinyl and her muslin is clean. She has lovely shiny hair. She is wearing the Urban Outfit.
It comes with white underwear, grey socks, a stripe hooded tee shirt, a red vest and a denim skirt.
